| Why it matters for 1316 | The 2020 Helena As She Was caption (held) identifies the adjacent building as Nash-Finch / 1316 Bozeman, Christie-managed. The photo itself is the liquor house. On an exhibit wall it is the neighbor that fell. |
Do not crop this and label it “1316.” Label it: Bozeman Street, 19 October 1935. The liquor warehouse. 1316 stood next door.

Diane Historic Home contains a large photo set (IMG_9491–IMG_9970 etc.): stone and clapboard revealed, mural on the smaller building, “TRANSFER & STORAGE” painted wall, current work. These are project / family / contractor pictures, not archive accessions.
Rights: treat as applicant-held until John Horne or Diane says otherwise. Fine for the TIF packet they are already in. Not for a public web page without that word.
The print of the white-painted warehouse with TRANSFER & STORAGE (IMG_9970 in the prior brief) is the best “this is the house” image we have. It is not 1935.

A 1935 photograph captioned as 1316 itself was not found in Montana Memory search. The Knudsen/Baird frame is the liquor house. If a Nash-Finch loading-dock shot exists, it is likely in UND Series 14 or an un-indexed MTHS box.
